Most Popular Actors in 2021

Undoubtedly, many great actors have graced the TV screen, and we have so many upcoming stars. One of the questions many ask is who is the most popular Actor now? While there are lists of top actors lying on the internet, this post overviews the works and achievements of three of the most notable actors of all time, who are still relevant even in 2021.

Morgan Freeman

Born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Morgan Freeman was raised in Mississippi where he started acting in school plays. Young Morgan attended Los Angeles City College for theatre arts studies before he went on to serve in the military between 1955 and 1959.
Freeman has received many accolades, including one Golden Globe Award, one Screen Actors Guild Award, one Academy Award, and four Obie Awards. Part of what made him popular is his deep distinctive voice and calm demeanor. Morgan featured in The Mighty Gents (1978), Coriolanus (1979), Street Smart (1987), Glory (1989), and many more arresting works.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Only very few people could have ever imagined that an actor who started from relatively humble beginnings, as a supporting cast member of the sitcom Growing Pains (1985) and low-budget horror movies like Critters 3 (1991), would become a major teen idol in the 1990s.
DiCaprio was born on November 11, 1974, in Los Angeles, California. He started his career in the late 1980s when he began appearing on some television commercials. Leonardo became a household name in 1996 when he starred as Romeo in Romeo + Juliet (1996), a movie about doomed lovers. A year after, he took the leading role in Titanic (1997), which is another movie about star-crossed lovers.
DiCaprio is a recipient of three Golden Globe Awards, two Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, one Academy Awards, and has even many more awards in his collections. DiCaprio is also the founder of Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing climate change and environmental issues.

Robert De Niro

Born in Manhattan in New York City, De Niro studied acting at Actors Studio in Manhattan, HB Studio in New York, and Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York. His first major role in a film came with Greetings (1968). Other works in which De Niro had featured include Man Streets (1973), a film in which he first collaborated with director Martin Scorsese.
De Niro is a two-time Academy Awards recipient for the best supporting actor in The Godfather Part II (1974) and best actor in Raging Bull (1980). One of the movies that brought him to the spot was Bang the Drum Slowly (1973), a sports drama film. De Niro’s performance as Bruce Pearson in the film brought him widespread acclaim.

Conclusion

Although these actors are now old and edging toward retirement, no doubt they remain on the list of notable and popular actors to have ever graced the television screen. And even long after they retire, their works and memory will remain. Hopefully, up-and-coming actors displaying memorable performances would also be able to secure their place in the history books.
